Johnnie Tuitel Memorial Fundraiser

Johnnie Tuitel passed away on July 15, 2025. He accomplished so many things in his life and continues to leave an impact on this world. To name a few, he played a key role in the founding years of Paws with a Cause, an organization that trains and matches service dogs with those in need. He received the “Unsung Hero Award” from President Gerald Ford, and the “Distinguished Alumni Award” from Hope College. He was a motivational speaker and a co-founder of the non-profit organization Alternatives in Motion, which donates wheelchairs and other medical equipment to those in need.

As a motivational speaker Johnnie told his story and touched hearts all over the country. He didn’t share his story to make people feel bad for him, but he did it to empower others. He had the opportunity to speak for numerous schools, camps and businesses across the country and his message continues to leave an impact on the world today.

Unfortunately due to his disability he did not qualify for life insurance. Any funds raised will be used to directly pay for funeral home and celebration of life costs. Anything additional will be donated to a cause dear to Johnnie’s heart. Thank you
