Funeral Expenses for Johnnie "Jayonce" Hewitt, Jr.

Hamburger Mary's Kansas City is deeply saddened by the news that our former, dearly loved employee, Johnnie "Jayonce" Hewitt, Jr. departed this world on March 24, 2025. Johnnie brought joy and love to everyone he touched, and he will be dearly missed. Jayonce was one of our first employees we hired at Hamburger Mary's Kansas City as our first front desk host. Her smile and love greeted thousands of people over the years as they came through the front door. Jayonce's impersonation of legendary singer Beyoncé was renowned in Kansas City. Even when she was working at Hamburger Mary's KC and not in drag, guests would still request that she perform any number of Beyoncé songs. As Jayonce in a performance, Johnnie was a force to be reckoned with.

One thing many people did not know was that from a young age, Johnnie suffered with physical issues related to his heart. Cardiac arrest is also what took him from us at the age of thirty-eight.

Sadly, when he passed, Johnnie did not have any life insurance to take care of funeral expenses, and his sister, Shaun, must bear the cost of all the funeral expenses on her own.

Hamburger Mary's Kansas City would like to help Shaun with this heavy financial burden during this difficult time when she is still struggling with the crushing emotions of the loss of her brother.
