On behalf of Trey Cordle and myself, we wanted to start this go fund me to help Johnnie Barber pay his mounting medical bills.

As many of you know, Johnnie is battling his second bout with cancer. Six years ago he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Now he is up against bone cancer that has spread to his hips and skull. This makes it next to impossible for Johnnie to drum and earn a living.

Johnnie is known worldwide as the engine that powered the amazing band behind Johnny Paycheck. Maybe you know him as the drummer with Merle Haggard or Loretta Lynn. Many of you recognize him from the solid groove he layed down with countless bands on Broadway, Printers Alley or clubs around Nashville.

Johnnie is one of those guys that has always been willing to lend a helping hand to friends. As gracious as he’s been to new musicians moving to town, I’m hoping that we can find a way to give him some of that love and respect back. Please donate to help him. Any amount, small or large, will accumulate and go a long way to ease him in this stressful time. If possible, please share this on your social media so all his friends and fans will see it.
