"If a player caught the flu, Mom might visit his dorm room and bring him soup, or get a prescription filled for him. One player got pneumonia...Mom attended his classes and...tutored him bedside." He explains "the example that Mom made with each gesture reinforced what my father had been preaching to his team about 'Commitment to the cause' and a sense of ' It's us against the world."
John Mody, friend and teamate to many of us, is battling an agressive form of brain cancer at Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Johns family, including his wife and mother are by his side. We in The Colgate Football family can help ease their finacial burden caused by his transportation and extended stay, and allow his family to concentrate on his recovery. Sarah Mody, Johns wife, will be the beneficiary and use the funds to pay expenses incurred by Johns illness.
John is a wonderful father, husband, son and brother. To most of us he is a friend, a friend that was part of something special that only lasted four years of our life, but has created a lifetime bond.
