My name is Katlynn Kennedy and as many of you may know my youngest brother John-Michael passed away on August 10th unexpectedly.
John-Michael was the most happiest and out going person I knew. John-Michael had many challenges in life but he never let that stop him. John-Michael loved cars and driving around town in his chair. He always had a smile on his face. He was well loved by his family and will be greatly missed. John-Michael was a 22 year old young man that lived with duchenne muscular dystrophy.
Duchenne muscular dystrophy (often called DMD) is a rare genetic disorder. When someone has Duchenne, their muscles get weaker over time. This makes it more difficult for them to walk, lift their arms, and perform daily tasks. Eventually, people with Duchenne lose the ability to walk. Duchenne is a progressive condition, which means it gets worse over time and cannot be reversed. But John-Michael never let that define him.
John-Michael was well loved by his community, so we are now asking for help with funeral expenses, urn, cremation and other things that may come up.
thank you for all of those that have reached out with your kind words and support. It is much appreciated. We are currently unsure of the date of a service but will be posted at a later time.
