On January 31, while visiting his dad and brother Karl in Lindstrom, John suffered an ischemic stroke. John was rushed to Regions Hospital where he was administered clot-busting drugs.
When that didn’t work as hoped, the clot was surgically removed. John started out with almost full left-side paralysis but with his amazing spirit, hard work & determination and many hours of physical therapy, John is now able to walk short distances on his own.
John was released from the Rehabilitation Center on February 26 and has been at home working with physical, occupational and speech therapists three times a week.
John, who is only 50 years old, started a new job on January 5 but since the stroke happened less than a month later, he is ineligible to receive benefits from his job.
Currently, John is unable to drive or work, so all monies donated with go directly to John to help with medical and living expenses during his recovery.
