John-Henry Lee Heart Transplant
Donation protected
Sarah Lee and her family patiently await a new heart for 6-year-old John-Henry. He is now inpatient until he can receive a transplant, which can take up to a year in the state of Ohio.
Sarah has 5 other children and works as a Nurse at the Cleveland Clinic. Please consider donating to help them in this difficult time.
The Story:
JH was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) and has completed all 3 palliative surgeries. After his 3rd open heart surgery (called a Fontan), he developed liver nodules which indicated that the 3rd surgery had failed. The increased central venous pressure then caused JH to go into heart failure. With that being said, he also has heart valves that are leaking badly and continue to get worse. JH is out of medical and surgical options, meaning a new heart is his only solution. His mom Sarah did her best to keep him home for as long as possible. Sadly, right before Christmas, JH came down with a viral infection and his team decided to keep him inpatient until a heart becomes available. He is currently going for a PICC line and ND tube placement to start medication and keep his nutrition up while he waits.
