John passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at his Arlington, VA home at the age of 58 after a long and courageous fight against HIV/AIDS.
For John Harmon's friends and family living in DC, VA & MD, a memorial service will be held Saturday, June 30th at 1:00 PM in the Commonwealth Baptist Church, 700 Commonwealth AVE, Alexandria VA 22301
A reception will follow the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers and cards, the money raised will go to paying for the reception and the balance will be donated to NIH in the name and memory of John Harmon.
John was the one who seemed to know that you needed a hug, or he would reach out to the newcomer with meeting info and a Big Book. John never let his blindness or disability get in the way of service to others.
Please help give John a proper service and reception by giving generously. John Harmon's tenacity and resilience will always be an inspiration to the recovering community.
