Brain Surgery Can't Beat John Smith

John Smith is a towering figure; yet, it is still surprising how such a huge heart can fit into his 6'5" frame. John has recently undergone two brain surgeries with the possibility of more in the future. Please join us as we support John with his medical bills and lost wages as he recovers.

John works for the non-profit organization Promise Neighborhood and for Talahi Community School. He spends his days and nights caring for underserved children and families in the St. Cloud community. For the last two years, John has organized the Stop the Violence event in St. Cloud bringing together local police and community members to help build a stronger sense of community for St. Cloud. 

When you see John work with students, you understand why he is so loved by the young people of Talahi and St. Cloud. By day, John spends his time connecting families, students, and teachers as the school Educational Equity Outreach Coordinator at Talahi. Each morning, John bends way down low to "elbow bump" his little friends as they come to school each day. At night you will find him teaching math and mentoring students at Youth Night/Math Club at the St. Cloud Promise Neighborhood. John is a big brother, father, protector, teacher, and role model for all.
