John-Carlos attend Nat'l Youth Leadership Forum

Hi, my name is Diana Johnson. I'm fundraising money for John-Carlos Johnson, my son who is in the 3rd grade at St. Mary's School, to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum in Memphis, TN in July 2023. His teacher, Miss. Burkette, nominated him as he has been recognized for "exceptional maturity, scholastic merit, and leadership potential even at this young age." This program will allow him to explore careers in medicine, engineering, and forensic science. John-Carlos is exceptionally intelligent in math, science, and is a very caring and sensitive person, always thinking of others ahead of himself. He is Hispanic and is proud of his Chilean roots.

The trip is in July, and it costs $2,803 for the 5 day event, not including food and lodging. John-Carlos started working by doing yard work in neighbors' yards, mom and dad (me and Erik) both work, Erik works over-time whenever it's available, I am a graduate student, we have one son with special needs, and we have 4 other children to provide for. We are doing everything we can to cover the cost of this trip so that John-Carlos can have the opportunity to explore careers that will change lives for the better when he is of age.

Erik and I can only afford about half of the cost, so we are asking for any help you can give to cover the other half: $1,500. God willing, if we raise more than $1,500, then the additional funds will go towards his food and lodging for the trip.

Every little bit will help. I can promise you: John-Carlos, being the big brother of 5 brothers, he is a very loving and responsible person. He has made it clear that he wants to help people, and I'm personally asking for your help to help him get there because he will have the capacity to help many people. Thank you for your time.
