TINY HOUSE

Hello there! My name is Daisy, I’m 23, an animal lover, hula hoop/dancer, vegetarian, environment freak! My boyfriend John is a 28 year old landscaper, who loves the outdoors, hiking, and seeing live music (which is actually how we met!). We also have a small yorkie mix rescue dog named Effy! She goes to work with us because I own my own dog walking company.
John and I want to buy some land for our future. A place where we can eventually build some more structures on, have an animal shelter/sanctuary, a garden, and farm animals! Unfortunately living in Boston, where rent is so high, it is very hard for us to save money while paying for our bills. In addition my recent disability has made it so I can’t work very much for the time being.
Three months ago I suffered nerve damage in both my legs. I couldnt walk or move or feel my legs. Full recovery will take around a year, but I am coming along slowly. Every day is better than the last.
John has been there every step of the way for me. After this happened to me, he moved in with me and has been working for me, walking Effy, driving me to my appointments and doing the laundry. We both love Tiny House Nation (and all the other tiny house programs), and when I told him I wanted to live in a tiny house and we could save money, he was thrilled. We spend $20,000 a year on this apartment just on rent (and I'm stuck in the lease until september). To have the opportunity to build a house for less than that, have it be as self sustaining as possible, and not owe anybody rent for the years to come while we save money for land….that’s our dream and we are very excited about it.
So because of our high rent and my disability, we started the Gofundme page in the hopes to raise enough money to buy the trailer. The trailers range from $2000 to $4000 for the size we need (we’re hoping for a 20 or 22 foot trailer).
Once we have the trailer we can start building! We plan to use mostly found or free items for the wood, design and appliances. We already got a free stove and a bunch of wood. So basically what we need the money for is the trailer and the solar panels.....but we can't do ANYTHING productive until we have the trailer!
Please help with whatever you can and share this to help us build our tiny, cost effective and energy efficient home!
We will be posting updates on our tiny home buid once we have the trailer and can start!
Daisy, John and Effy!
