I wanted to share a little bit about John or as some of you may know him Big John aka the Gentle Giant. I have known John for more than half my life and I am blessed to be raising two beautiful girls with him. If you have been lucky enough to cross paths with him than you already know that he is a genuine and amazing man who would give you the shirt off his back. Almost 9 years ago John joined me on the journey to adopt our first daughter Leilani when she was just 6 weeks old. A year later we adopted Mariah, and they have had him wrapped around their fingers ever since. Our girls are his entire world and the reason he is fighting so hard to get well.
John loves his girls so much and would do anything to provide for them. While working full time during the pandemic John contracted Covid 19 and just 4 days later was admitted into the hospital with severe symptoms. John is only 34 years old and had no underlying health issues but still the virus viciously attacked his lungs. Within a week of being in the hospital John was put on full life support (ECMO and ventilator). During this crisis none of John’s family were able to see him or comfort him.
Nonetheless John continued to fight with the help of some amazing doctors and nurses. After being in the ICU for over 30 days in a medically induced coma, John finally came off sedation and has been able to communicate with us. Johns medical team has decided his only way to make it home to his girls is to receive a double lung transplant.
We humbly ask for help:
John is facing a life-long road to recovery both medically and financially. It starts with getting John from Texas to Florida where he has been accepted by a wonderful lung transplant program.We are asking for your help by donating and/or sharing this page to help John and his girls. John is praying that he gets the chance to see his girls grow up and they deserve to have their dad with them every step of the way.
