John's Funeral Service

Hello to anyone who is reading this message.
My dad, John Mims, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 25, 2020. He was a genuinely good man and I know he touched so many other people's lives. In the years I knew him the most, he was a great dad. He used to sing to me all the time- songs like "Little Bitty" by Alan Jackson that became kind of the theme song for me growing up and now even more so that I'm an adult.
We lead a pretty simple life in the country, getting by with what we had and being happy with it. I didn't realize quite how both big and small the world was until I got older and became more of a "city slicker", as my dad liked to say. Now the song means more to me than anything. I still hear him singing it in his goofy voice.
My family has never had a ton of money to spare, and unfortunately there are a lot of costs financially that come with losing a loved one on top of the emotional strain. I know my dad didn't ever need much to be happy and wouldn't have cared for anything extravagant- but I want to give him a memorial service he deserves so that my family and I can have the closure to say our goodbyes and honor his memory.
We'd like to raise $1,700 to help offset the costs of funeral expenses by November 11th, 2020.
I know 2020 has been a roller coaster of a year for everyone, but any bit will help so much and we appreciate it more than words can express.
Thank you for your time in reading this message, please stay safe everyone.
