Our brother, John Wilson was a Miami-based artist who passed away suddenly due to non-COVID related pneumonia at the eclipse of the pandemic. Very much a man of many interests, talents, and involvements, John was a Hip hop emcee, an actor, philosopher, & music producer. He recently had been taking care of his mother and household, who was forced into retirement after 30+ years as a nurse due to the pandemic. This gofundme is to help make Wilson's transition less of a burden for his family. John was involved with multiple sub-cultures and organizations in Miami, including christian-based hip hop collective Catalyst, Smoke and Mirrors emcee collective, and the Roots Black men build group to name a few. He was above all a great friend to anyone who knew him. He performed all over Miami for over 2 decades, as well as contributed to multiple films as a music producer. We would like for this gofundme to stand as a testament and tribute to our dear brother 'Wilson' & the great personal impact he had on so many in the Miami creative scene. and beyond.  All collected funds will be going DIRECTLY to his family. It couldn't be overstated, how significant John's financial assistance to his family had been up to this moment when he suddenly passed away, tragically.  Hopefully our contributions will help take care of funeral costs & also provide short term financial assistance now that John is no longer here to contribute to his home. John was a beloved Uncle, Brother,  Son, & member of the community. He volunteered thousands of hours to community events & it would be great if the community can come together in this time of need after his passing. John Wilson's repass will be this upcoming Friday & funeral services will be Saturday TBA.  A Benefit concert celebrating his life & also to raise funds for his family NEXT wednesday at the Center of Sub Tropical Affairs.
