John Watson Community Special School Xmas appeal 2024

John Watson School in Wheatley is a community special school that supports pupils from all backgrounds across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, JWS caters for children from the age of 4yrs old up to 19yrs old. The children suffer from a variety of disabilities including Autism, ADHD, Dyspraxia and Downs syndrome

For many years I have decorated the outside of the house for the pleasure of not only my family but also our neighbours and friends and again this year my wife, Michelle, and I are again raisng funds for John Watson School as we have done the past 2 years raising almost £1600 in total for school non funded projects.

JWS are trying to raise funds for the extra curricular activities for which they do not get funding such Farms2Ewe, this project allows pupils to interact with many animals while they are at school in their safe enviroment. This promotes communication and interaction.

We have two grandchildren at JWS, one in the senior school, Ruby aged `15yrs old and who is autistic, has ADHD and Dyspraxia and her cousin Reece who will be 7yrs old on December 18th is also Autistic and mute . The work that the school has done with Ruby since she arrived there 6yrs ago and the difference we can already see in Reece who has now been in the junior school for just over a year is amazing.
