On 8 Nov 22, John W. Casey, 29, passed away unexpectedly. After graduating high school, Johnny enlisted as an Infantryman in the United States Army. In spite of his young age, he quickly rose through the ranks and became a widely respected NCO. Even in his early twenties, Johnny carried himself with the poise and maturity of a leader twice his age, and he exemplified what it meant to be a leader, not only in the Army but in life. Sergeant Casey deployed twice in support of Operation Enduring Freedom with the 172d Infantry Brigade and Operation Resolute Support with 3/10 Mountain Division. In 2021, after 11 years of service, Johnny was medically retired from the Army. Johnny had an infectious smile and attitude that always lit up the room. He would never turn a Soldier away and embodied a leadership style that displayed his genuine care for those he worked with. He selflessly put others before himself whenever the opportunity arose. The same qualities that made him an exceptional leader for his fellow soldiers carried over into leading his family. A loving husband and father, Johnny is survived by his wife and two sons. This fundraiser will help support the family in setting up arrangements for Johnnys funeral and memorial services.
