John Smallwood's Lung Cancer Fund

My name is Shari Abbott and my dad's name is John. After months of intense pain, my father went in for an MRI whose results would change our lives forever. The MRI indicated that he has a mass growing in his back.

After a liver biopsy and multiple other diagnostic tests, it has been determined that my dad has small cell lung cancer. At diagnosis, we found out that he is already in the extensive stage of his disease which means the cancer has spread to his other organs; the bones, liver and lymph nodes are involved at this point. The tumor in his spinal cord is making the pain intolerable. His doctor has given him a few weeks to a few months to live.

My brother Greg and I have the responsibility of making sure his last few weeks go as seamless as possible, but we need your help. The financial burden of a dying family member without life insurance is stressful to say the least. Any funds raised will be used exclusively for my dad's upcoming medical bills and/or hospice stay. We will also be using the funds to help with the overwhelming costs that come with funeral/cremation services.
