In memory of our beloved colleague and friend, John Sinkewich, Metro Physical Therapy is proud to announce the establishment of the John Sinkewich Memorial Scholarship. John's unwavering dedication, humble nature, and outstanding contributions to our team will forever be remembered through this scholarship, aimed at supporting aspiring students following in his footsteps.

John's physical therapy journey began as an aide at Hayes PT in 2021. At the time he was a full-time student at Stony Brook University, where he was pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Health Science with dreams of entering PT school. His commitment to his education and his passion for the field of physical therapy were evident from the start. Despite the demands of his studies, he seamlessly integrated himself into our small facility, quickly proving his worth and earning the respect and trust of both colleagues and patients.

A true testament to his character, John not only navigated the challenges of a busy academic schedule but also embraced the changes that came with Hayes PT's merger into Metro Physical Therapy. His adaptability and resilience shone through as he effortlessly acclimated to new protocols, new colleagues, and the dynamic environment of a merged clinic. Throughout this time, John's quiet confidence and genuine care continued to win the hearts of even the most challenging patients.

What set John apart was his unwavering reliability. In his time with us, he never missed a single day of work, showcasing his commitment to his responsibilities and his team. At the young age of 23, he managed the demands of supporting himself while pursuing his dreams—a remarkable feat that inspired all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Despite his many accomplishments, John remained modest and unassuming. He downplayed his own achievements, always deflecting the spotlight onto others. When he completed his degree and graduated in May, it was a moment of pride and celebration for all of us. We were excited to witness the next chapter of his journey as he aimed to become a physical therapist—an aspiration we know he would have excelled in.

The John Sinkewich Memorial Scholarship aims to carry forward John's legacy of determination, humility, and excellence. By supporting deserving students pursuing a path in physical therapy, we hope to honor John's memory and inspire future generations to embody the qualities that made him truly exceptional.
