John Sharp Southport HS Class of 2008 Scholarship

Hello All and thank you so much for reading this long post. For all of you that had the pleasure of knowing John Sharp I dont need to explain what kind of person he was. For those of you that didnt know, John tried everything from Basketball, soccer, Football and most importantly was his starring role in our theater department. He loved the challenge of something new and was always entertaining. He had bad hearing so one day in highschool he taped a sticky note to his ear that read, "OUT OF ORDER" which left everyone wondering whyJohn always had that same smile as the above picture. He was a class clown and a quiet ladies man!
Unfortunately on August 19th 2012 John passed after a horrible accident just months after graduating from Manchester college and landing a huge job with great benefits. However, With it being so unexpected and life insurance not active yet his family wasn't prepared for what came next because who ever is? John cared about EVERYONE and would have given the last of anything of his if it helped make someone smile. After this tragedy, myself and a group of his best Southport Friends decided to host a charity 3 on 3 Basketball tournament as well as Be Fresh Be Sharp wristbands to raise money for his funeral costs and to give him the beautiful headstone he deserved. With the help of EVERYONE that loved John and his AMAZING MANCHESTER UNIVERSITY friends we were able to ask his family what they needed. With the remaining amount of money they wanted us to help others BECAUSE that's what John would have done. So we invested the rest with the Southport Alumni Association to award a scholarship to a graduating Senior each year.
That's where I am asking for any help to keep the John Sharp/Class of 2008 Scholarship going. His dad informed me recently that last year he paid for a huge part of it out of his pocket because he wanted John's name to live on and funds were gone. I take responsibility for that and I promised I wouldn't let him do that on his own this year. John wouldnt want this just about him because nothing ever was, that is why this is to honor everyone we've lost and continue to lose from the class of 2008. I will organize a charity event for the future years Scholarship in our awesome class of 2008/ JohnSharp name, but I am asking for any and all help getting the money needed to fund this year as we are running out of time.
Money is due by April 1st, so once again I apologize for such short timing and I thank anyone who took the time to read! I'll keep everyone update on the future event for the upcoming years!
