John & Sarah Whittick of Cider Apple Trees - Heritage Nursery & Small Farm in Somerset are raising money to take part in 2 amazing new courses - Roots 2 Regeneration (Rootsofnature.co.uk) a regenerative agriculture training programme aimed at both farmers and professionals - they will take one pathway each
Coming from conventional farming backgrounds, the Whitticks want to undertake a serious educational journey to upskill - each to benefit their farmland & professionally the apple tree nursery too and also to share their knowledge with the rest of the Ecological Land Cooperative steward community and others across the West Country as ambassadors for the movement.
Sarah says: "There is so much to learn and this would be a wonderful opportunity: to study nature from the soil up; work out how to restore and repair our land & food systems and lead others in this refreshing and optimistic way of thinking for all our futures."
"We are busy growing our lovely traditional apple trees, tending our tiny flock of sheep and caring for the chickens, ducks, geese and quail. We are very happy with our organic and off-grid lifestyle but we do not have any spare funds and wouldn't be able to take part in these 2 courses without your financial assistance", explains John.
The course runs part-time for 2 years and the money for this transformative journey pays for a supported, regenerative design process, on-farm experiences, engaging online learning, live sessions with guest experts, fortnightly coaching calls, and expert support.
We hope to raise enough to start the courses at the end of March - please give generously if you can and tell your friends and family about our needs - we couldn't do it without your help - our match funding campaign is the vital key - thank you!
