Support for the Vickers Family

Upstream Medical Care & Aesthetics is raising funds for our amazing team member Jamie and her two children, who unexpectedly lost her beloved husband John "Rocky" Vickers on Sunday January 14, 2024. Anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting Jamie knows she is one of the kindest and most caring individuals that we all are truly blessed to know. We hope to help Jamie and her two young children Roselynn and Raylan with any expenses during this extremely difficult time. John “Rocky” Vickers, age 41, of Wilmington Island, Georgia passed away Sunday January 14, 2024 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. He was born December 27, 1982 in Cabarrus County the son of Joan Denise Horton Vickers and the late James Michael Vickers. He attended South Rowan High School. He worked for Nestle Science, Wahoo’s Diner, Carolina Beverage and BeBop’s. Rocky was an avid fisherman, enjoyed cooking, and spending time with his children. He was a member of Stallings Memorial Baptist Church and the Wilmington Island Home Owner’s Association. He loved his wife dearly. Rocky had a special brotherhood with his friends Robert, Scott, Andy and Lucas. Those left to cherish his memories in addition to his mother and his wife Jamie Vanhoy Vickers; daughter, Roselynn Joan Vickers age 12, and son Raylan Crate Vickers age 6; maternal grandmother Lucille Horton; half-brother Michael Vickers; half-sister Jami Granberry.

Visitation: 6-8 PM Friday, January 19, at Summersett Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 20th at Summersett Memorial chapel conducted by Rev. Larry Gilbreath with burial to follow at Westlawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
