John Roberts - Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Attention musicians and friends!
We have set up this GoFundMe to ask for support for John Roberts and his family. Many of you know John as the father of champion fiddler Ridge Roberts and the proud dad to Jonathan, Aedan, and Rio, as well as husband to Cindy.
It started after John returned home to Texas from the National Oldtime Fiddlers Contest in Weiser, Idaho, on Monday, June 23, when he began feeling very ill. What seemed like the flu turned into something worse. After a visit to the Minor Emergency Clinic, John was sent to the emergency room where doctors confirmed he has sepsis. Further tests showed he had double pneumonia and a mass on his liver, which was biopsied and shown to be a staph infection in his bloodstream. After 12 days of antibiotics, he is home now, on home health care, and will need to be on IV antibiotics for at least three more weeks while trying to combat several infections. Pain management and fever have been challenging, with two more trips back to the ER since he has been home, dealing with a range of complications.
While he is staying positive, the road to recovery will be long and challenging. Thankfully, John does have insurance, but of course, it doesn't cover everything. There are unforeseen expenses adding up, including not being able to work for the foreseeable future.
We have set up this GoFundMe to help John and his family navigate this tough time and give them some peace of mind. John is the type of guy to constantly be busy and on the move - a home builder and remodeler, as well as being an ace fiddle repairman at his home shop - The Fiddle Fixer. John is one tough dude and is staying optimistic!
Thank you so much for any support if you can, whether it is a donation, prayer for answers and quick healing, or simply sharing this. If you choose to share, please share the post directly from my Facebook page. Thanks - Joey
For those who are not comfortable with or familiar with GoFundMe, it is safe and easy to do. You can opt out of giving a 'tip' by changing the amount of the tip (including zero) during the donation process. This is right after you select your donation amount, you'll see a slider that you can adjust. It is not mandatory to tip.
