Friends and family,
Friends and family,
We are heartbroken over the loss of our beloved son, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, John (Chris) Roberts. In the months leading up to his death, he suffered from horrible back pains which he thought were linked to his work, eventually finding that the pain was caused by Stage 4 Osteosarcoma. After trouble finding a hospital that would admit him due to the fact that he was unable to walk or sit comfortably, and hospitals not willing to triage him from the car, he finally began to rest at St. Francis Hospital on the Southeast side of Indianapolis. There he and his family were given the news that his cancer was inoperable, and he decided not to move further with any radiation or treatment. His family, including his parents John and Suzy, his sister Shannon, and his daughter Witny have been with him every step of the way. John is now in Hospice at St. Francis where he is comfortable until he is taken to his forever home.
John was deeply loved by so many around him. He was a lover of anything to do with the outdoors; fishing, camping, hunting, and horses (especially his horse, Money). He was an avid NASCAR fan and often times was helping to fix up old cars, and even worked on a race crew at one point. He was one of the hardest workers that we knew and worked for years as a Floor Covering Specialist. His pride and joy was his family, his daughter Witny and his granddaughter Laila. He loved camping and riding horses with his friends, and spent a lot of time doing so in Brown County.
All proceeds will go directly towards celebration of life arrangements made by the family, any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Love to all,
The Roberts
