Jazz bassist John Ray has been an essential part of the Long Island Jazz community for many decades. His swing, comprehensive knowledge of the music and humor have lifted countless performances and inspired countless students at our campus, LIU Post, and beyond. Now John is facing a sudden and complex medical condition that will keep him away from his bass during his recovery.
