John Pratt Booker Needs Our Help to Cover ICU & Medical Costs
On July 1 our dear friend John Booker was admitted to the ICU at St. Joseph’s hospital in Phoenix with severe pneumonia and sepsis and has been on a ventilator ever since. His recovery is going slowly and when he wakes up, he’s going to be faced with hospital and doctor copays, uncovered medical expenses for weeks of physical and respiratory therapy, and other treatments on his long journey back to health. That’s why we’re asking for your help.
John has offered his service to many non-profit and community organizations, friends and family members over the years. Just three years ago he cared lovingly for his beloved husband, David, as he fought kidney cancer until his peaceful passing in their Phoenix home.
These past days with John in the hospital, his friends have shared many stories about how he showed up for each of them when they needed help, offering his support and assistance even while grieving his own devastating loss.
Please help us show John how much we appreciate the support he has provided to the gay community, friends, and so many others here in Phoenix and beyond. All monies will go directly to paying incoming bills and medical expenses. The fund is being managed by his lifelong friend, Kelley Keogh, who also serves as the legal executor of John’s medical directive.
