John Phillip Hermoso Memorial

John Phillip Hermoso, known as "JP" to our family and "Panduh" to the cycling community, passed away last Saturday, April 30.  He had a fatal accident cycling down Santa Clara Truck trail where he collided with a car head on.  He was a Rapha ride leader, known as the nicest and strongest rider. He was a friend to every cyclist he met. Truly an ambassador in the sport of cycling as exemplified by the number of supporters he has and the lives he touched. It seems if you did not know him, you must have crossed paths with him, or heard of him.

 

If there's one thing JP made sure to do, it was to live his life to the fullest. As an avid cyclist, he conquered the obstacles of over 57,000 miles and riding across states. JP was kind-hearted, loving, and passionate. He had a distinct taste in music and food; always the one to fill the room with laughter.  As a musician, he pursued his passion by playing the drums and guitar with his friends. As a food enthusiast, he knew the best spots, cooked the best meals, picked the menu for our family gatherings, and eventually worked for The Golden Road Brewery. Lastly, as a boyfriend, brother and son, he shared unforgettable memories with his girlfriend Mary, sisters Judith and Jeanne, brother Joel, parents Johnny and Edith - being the youngest of the four siblings.

 

We planned to celebrate this upcoming Mother's Day with him. We are going to miss his presence and will forever cherish our memories of him in our hearts. He will continue to live on in so many ways and through everyone he has connected with, during his time with us.

 

This fund is to help the Hermoso Family with funeral and memorial services, to get through this tragedy and beyond.
