John Paul's Journey

Donation protected
A few weeks ago, John Paul began experiencing balance issues and double vision. On March 21st, Katie and Nick took him to his pediatrician, who immediately referred him to VCU Medical Center for imaging. A CT scan and MRI revealed devastating news—John Paul has a rapidly growing brain tumor.

Dr. Park, a pediatric neuro-oncologist, confirmed the diagnosis as Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). John Paul will undergo a biopsy, and once he has healed, he will begin six weeks of radiation at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C. After completing radiation, his medical team will determine the best clinical trial for his treatment.

This GoFundMe has been created to support the Macri family with the many expenses that will arise during this difficult journey, including travel, lodging, and medical costs. Any contribution is deeply appreciated as they navigate this challenging time.
