John Paul Jr Huntington's Disease

John Paul Jr. was a tremendously talented race car driver and a true racing legend.  What is less known about John was his courageous 20 year battle against Huntington’s Disease (HD) until it eventually took his life.   It was a long and difficult journey, yet his determination to find a cure for this devasting illness never wavered.  He worked side by side with Dr. Susan Perlman of UCLA Neurology’s Center of Excellence as well as the support of a network of healers and health care providers which extended his life far beyond expectations.

In honor of his legacy and the continuation of his efforts to find a cure, The John Paul Jr. Huntington’s Disease Foundation (501c3)  continues to raise money for research and is now eagerly awaiting the development of the new John Paul Jr. Wellness Center.  The JPJ Wellness Center will be a safe haven where individuals suffering from Huntington's Disease (as well as other neurological diseases) as well as their loved ones, will be able to access resources, holistic treatments, and respite care in a compassionate and caring environment.

Your kind and generous donations will bring us that much closer to opening our doors.  In addition, part of our funding will continue to support research at UCLA towards a cure for this merciless disease as well as provide support for those who need HD care, but cannot afford the overwhelming costs.  Although you may not know of someone afflicted with HD, you most likely know someone with Parkinson's or Alzheimer’s disease.  The cure to HD could also unlock the cure for these horrible afflictions as well.
