Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
My name is David Strobach and I am currently a Junior at Hillsdale College. This summer I have the opportunity to study abroad at the Pontifical University of John Paul II through the JP2 Project. Due to personal financial constraints, I must fundraise about $5,000 dollars for tuition and airfare in order to make this dream a reality.
The JP2 Project is an opportunity that would deepen my spiritual journey with Christ. St. John Paul II inspires me to lead a saintly life as a young man and there is no better way to do this than to be immersed in the sacramental life, to study the most influential saint of the past 100 years, and to partake in pilgrimages (such as the Marian Shrine of Czestachowa, the capital of Warsaw, a tour of Auschwitz Concentration Camp and exploring John Paul II's home town). This summer would make me into a better man and help bring others around me to Christ. I may be nowhere near the mind or writer that JP2 was, but we can all be certain of one vocation in life and that is to show others Christ’s love.
In my faith journey, I am currently discerning my vocation and it has caused an inexplicable amount of stress. Pope John Paul II has brought me great peace in this time due to his simple words of “Do not be afraid.” He speaks of the joy and importance of listening to God’s voice in my heart, and how only through him do we find happiness. My devotion to him has shown me if I continue to trust in Christ, I will find out how he is calling my heart. The JP2 Project will most definitely aid my discernment. The opportunities of daily mass and adoration open my heart in search of His voice while at the same time it lets me pursue rigorous academics. Studying JP2 the man shows me the mind of one of the greatest religious figures to live who has shaped me in so many ways. This program will mold me more into the child that Christ intended me to be regardless of vocation.
This is not about having a fun trip, but immersing myself in a faith filled experience that will help mold me spiritually. Would you be willing to prayerfully consider offering a donation to make this trip possible? Every dollar makes a difference no matter the amount! I am very thankful for your time and help! I am happy to keep you updated on all of my travels and experiences in Poland to show you how your generous gift is helping me!
I am more than happy to speak with you and share additional information. Don't hesitate to reach out for anything!
Please pray for me on my journey!
