As many of you know John had a life changing accident on March 19 which required surgery and extensive physical therapy at Harborview Hospital. John and Shelly are so grateful for the friends and family that took time to travel to visit, send a note, or even post a message of encouragement.
On May 13, John returned to Harborview for a second surgery. The road to recovery continues to be difficult. John's coverage through his employer will end on June 19, 2019. John can choose to stay on his employer’s health insurance plan for 18 months but will have to pay for his own health insurance premiums beginning on June 20. John and Shelly understand that staying on his employer’s health insurance plan is the best option for now but it will be an additional expense to them. The road to recovery won’t be getting easier. Shelly will continue to be John's primary care giver and advocate and will not be able to continue with her day care at this time.
As you can imagine the medical bills are starting to arrive. The anticipated financial situation will be quite difficult with the loss of employment for both John and Shelly.
A Go Fund Me account has been established to help support John and Shelly with the medical bills. If you have the means to give even a small donation they would greatly appreciate the support.
