Meet John Noble, Husband, Father, Grand Father and Cancer sufferer.
John has had a long history with Cancer, in 2004 he was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer and whilst the usual treatments were started, he was told his best outcome would be to remove the tumorous tissue, John lost a Testicle.
A long period of Remission followed, John's sense of humor and his health both improved remarkably, and during this period, Johns love of motorcycles and his sense of humor saw the formation of the Trembling Sphinkters MC, a tongue in cheek 'bikie' gang of old men.
2016 saw John suffering with a constant sore throat, a seemingly endless course of anti-biotics prescribed and eventually a trip to the Hospital where John was diagnosed with a Stage 4 Cancer of the Throat. and so began another series of Radiation and Chemo, John had lost so much weight that surgery was out of the question, he had a 'Feeding Tube' inserted directly into his Stomach through his belly and Dinner became a huge syringe full of paste that was squirted in.
The physical and emotional strain for both John and his wife Kaye became increasingly difficult to bear, friends and Family helped with Hospital Appointments as much as possible, to offer support and a chance for Kaye to 'step back' and have a few hours of Respite.
As John was not putting enough weight on, he had a pump to 'feed' him overnight while he slept and eventually his Surgery went ahead. Surgery was successful and after many visits and reviews he was officially in Remission. The Physical cost this time was Johns Hearing and his ability to produce Saliva, John must have access to water where ever he goes. With this Cancer gone, both John, Kaye and their extended Family began the journey back to some normality, the Sphinkters got back out on the Road and John was a happy man again.
And now, constant pain in his lower back and hip, a prognosis of a damaged hip and suggestion that he would need a Hip Replacement meant more and more Pain Killers, to the point where John went back to the Hospital where a CT Scan showed a Tumor on his Spine.
John attended for a full body MRI, this scan identified 5 Tumors on his Spine, his Liver is compromised with a cancerous Tumor and it has invaded his Lymphatic System.
John is not eligible for a transplant because of the extent of the other Cancers, his Oncologist has advised him that this time, his Cancer is Terminal. He has been advised that if Radiation and Chemo do their job properly he may have up to 2 or 3 years and if not, then his expectancy is 8 to 10 Months!
John is Scared, Kaye is Scared, his Family and friends are distraught, Intensive Radiation has begun, Chemo is next and with it a further decline in John and Kaye's Physical and Mental Health.
Kaye is an incredibly strong woman, John's Family are doing their best but with only a Pension to live on, there is just not enough money to cover all of the out of pocket expenses.
