John Needs Your Help with Medical Bills

John is having spinal surgery to repair part of his spine that has failed since his last surgery. About three years ago, he was told he had a spinal infection. He would go through horrific suffering and waiting for nearly a year. By the time his medical team would figure out what to do to help him, he was basically bedridden. There was never a moment he was not in intense pain. His pain was so unbearable it made him extremely depressed. Often he was found crying in the bed to try and get some rest.
But by the grace of God, he survived but would require surgery to repair the area of his lumbar spine affected. Thankfully, after a long year of recovery, he was able to return to many activities in life, though continued to have pain due to the segment above the area of surgery that was not in the best of shape. This segment has failed and John once again is suffering with serious pain. His pain and disability have forced him to stop working.
He has worked gallantly over the past 2.5 years in rehabilitation, exercise and healthy eating to try and resume a measure of what he could do before this all began. John is so grateful to God, his family, and friends who prayed for him and encouraged him through this journey. There are no words to describe how thankful we are to have seen God heal him to the point he could walk again. We are praying for another miracle! His medical care has become very expensive.
John retired a few years early in 2020 from teaching after 31 years of service to care for his disabled wife, who has fragile health. Unfortunately, John’s medical insurance has a very high deductible and out-of-pocket expense level. Runaway inflation has hit them very hard with his limited teacher retirement.
He desperately needs help to cover his high medical expenses. Thank you in advance for helping my John and me by praying for us. If you can assist with his expenses, know we will be deeply grateful. Our overall goal is to raise $8500.00 as his deductible and out of pocket maximum are very high.
John has spent most of his life serving others! Though he had the opportunity to leave the classroom, he stayed as this is where he felt God needed him. Teaching did not provide his family with any surplus income and required his wife to work to assist before she became disabled. After his wife became disabled, John took on extra jobs in addition to teaching to help pay the bills.
In addition to teaching, John served as a Venture Scout leader running a Venture Crew for a US Marine Corps Reserve Unit. Many young men and women benefited from his leadership. After his years in scouting, John migrated into athletic ministry. For nearly eighteen years, John spent most weekends on the road serving college volleyball and beach volleyball athletes.
John's dedication to serving others as a means of sharing the love of Jesus has inspired so many. He now needs your help. So please consider giving!
Thank you for helping John in his time of need.
