John Mitchell “Shrimpy” Farm Accident

Hi my name is Melissa Mitchell, I’m Shrimps sister-in-law. We wanted to have a place where people can donate if they want or share words with our family in this time of need.

On September 7th two brothers set out to chop corn like any other early fall night. An accident happened that night that will forever change the Mitchell’s lives. John “Shrimpy” Mitchell’s right arm was severed in the chopper head. He was air lifted by Theda star. Shrimps arm had to be amputated right below his right shoulder. His left foot had to be surgically reattached.

Shrimpy needs your continued prayers, that his left foot will heal without complications. Being a family run business you can imagine the emotional devastation the Mitchell’s are in at this time, please pray for Candy and their two little girls, Madison and Jade. Please pray for his Brother and Sister who watched their brother lifted by helicopter that night. Also pray for the entire Mitchell family as they support each other during this time.

Besides your prayers you can imagine the financial stress that this family holds in their future. This financial support will be continually needed due to the loss of one income in their household. The last thing Candy needs to think about right now is money. The families energy needs to go towards Shrimps recovery both physically and emotionally.

The support from the farming community has brought tears to our eyes. Thank you for the unbelievable support from our families, friends and our community. We are so grateful for each and every one of you.

Shrimp and Hank have work hard to build Mitchell Brothers Farms LLC into what it is today. We couldn’t be prouder of them and will pray we can continue to push on with the help of our friends and family.
