John or "Crusher Doogan" as he was well known at the New York Wrestling Connection (NYWC) was a kind, loving husband and father of two. He was a family man, the chef, who always put his wife and children above his own needs. He had a passion for wrestling that started in his childhood. He attended the Malenko's Pro Wrestling Academy in Tampa, Florida in 1992 and became a trainer at the school soon after. A job opportunity allowed the family to move back to Long Island, New York in 1996. This job allowed John to work and Jennifer to stay home to raise their children, which she did until her youngest started kindergarten. This made finances tight, but they valued family time above anything and lived life frugally from that point through today, putting family needs above extravagances.
Most recently, John worked in the grocery industry for Key Food Corporate. He also continued to follow his passion and performed his wrestling persona, Crusher Doogan, for the NYWC where he was inducted into the NYWC Hall of Fame in 2018 . He was so proud of this recognition.
As his wife Jennifer, son John and daughter Jessica begin to cope with this immense loss, we are hoping to raise money to help them through this devastating time and to help provide security moving forward. These donations will help with the costs of student loans for the children, mortgage payments and general living costs as the family has been reduced to one salary with no life insurance and are still getting back on their financial feet after John had been out of work from May 2017 through November 2018 due to downsizing and consolidation. Please join us in contributing - no amount is too small.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you in advance for your generosity.
