I am Dave Ritz and I am setting up this GoFundMe Page/Account for my good friend and partner, John Longman, [phone redacted]. John is in a bind and needs our help. John’s doctors inform him, he is in a a dire need for surgery to repair his urethra and colon. This is caused by a Fistula, channel between the Colon and Urethra. This leads to infections which will cut John’s life will short.
The first major corrective surgery will be followed by at least two more surgeries. John needs a stable place to live after he can go home and take care of himself. John’s current quarters are not stable in fact after moving in a week and one half ago with assurances he can stay for 12 months, his landlady asked him to leave, even after signing a two months extension to January 15, 2020. She is now agreeing to January 15.
The first surgery requires six weeks of daily oxygen treatments followed by the surgery. At that point John may go home or to an assisted facility for a short period. A stable place is more costly then shared living, at least $1,000 a month. John has Social Security of $1,400 and to afford $1,000 he needs at least $1,900 per month. John also needs assistance to cover additional expenses from the surgery, prescriptions, food, assisted living and bills while he is incapacitated. $8,000 will cover John’s situation for six to nine months but this may be on the low side. Denver is booming and so are expenses and rents.
I am in Houston and John is in Denver making it difficult for me to be there for John.
If you can’t give please forward to others that may be able to help. Any excess funding will go to St. Jude or others like John in need.
John is a genuine good person, likes to and does help others. He has impacted many lives and enjoys making new friends and interacting with other people. He must start oxygen treatments soon and book his surgery.
Let's help John through this difficult and challenging time so he can get his life back to normal. I'm sure most of us have needed help at some point. I know it really feels good to know you have made a difference by helping someone in need, particularly a person who helps others. This will make a real difference John’s life and those in the future he serves.
