I'm John Koozin, a New York-based musician recording my first album, and I'm looking for funding to make it all possible.

"John Koozin and the Neighborhood" will feature an all-star band with Sullivan Fortner, Matt Wilson, and Dave Glasser. These incredible artists have inspired me greatly, and I'm fortunate to have had them as mentors to me throughout my adult life.

This album is heavily inspired by teaching experiences I've had at a small school in Sunnyside, Queens. Through teaching, I've realized the importance of bringing jazz and musical storytelling to all ages. These kids and experiences have made me feel more youthful and free as a bassist and individual. It's also placed more importance on community and friendship in my life, shaping this record's concept.

Your gifts to this album would go straight to the musicians, engineers, and artists making this project complete. Your funding would aid in the mixing/mastering, the album concept art, and the distribution process.

As a thank you for donating any amount, your name will be included in the liner notes for the album, on physical copies and Bandcamp (with your permission). You will also receive access to an early release of the record before its official release, planned for March, 2023.
