Johnny was fighting the odds...
While finishing up his shift at work on March 27th, our sweet John Kolb felt a pain that would change our lives forever. Within moments of feeling a large pain through his body, he was rushed to the hospital.
John was rushed into emergency surgery for an aortic dissection that ran from his heart all the way to his groin. This is abnormally long for an aortic dissection and something even the surgeon who is in the top 50 of the country had not seen before. While in surgery, he received a major blood transfusion and coded twice. The phenomenal doctors and nurses in the room were able to bring him back and for the last two weeks we’ve all been thankful our Johnny was still here with us.
He was sent home April 9th and suddenly went into cardiac arrest a few hours later. After being rushed to the hospital again, unfortunately this time they were not able to save him. The world lost an incredibly amazing, smart, kind and hard working man that day and our hearts and lives will never be the same.
If you knew Johnny, you know he would do anything for the people he loves and cares about. There are a lot of details that his brother Bill Kolb is taking care of and this is the best way to help his family while suffering this horrible loss. Thank you for your love and support.
