John Knotts recover from Guillian Barre

Hello!
My name is Cody Hawkins and my mother is Terry Ehler. In January of 2020, she married John Knotts and up until that marriage, my mother insisted love wasn't worth it yet she ended up falling for him anyways. I attribute it to his persistence and creative outlook. I don't think John will ever say no to anything. His response is to figure out solutions, not turn down ideas.
John is a creative, caring, and loving individual who has a passion for art, cooking, and playing the guitar. I kid you "knott" when I say he is one of the good ones.
However... Terry and John are going through an immensily difficult time right now.
John has a condition known as Guillian barre.
For roughly 3 months, he was comotose in the hospital under a medically induced coma. The condition attacks the end tips of your nervous system effectively paralyzing his entire body. It attacked quickly and in under 24 hours, he was hospitalized and is still currently on a ventilator. There is more to it then just this condition; for example he also has Bickerstaff which is an infection on the brain stem.
But there is good news!
He is getting better and is out of his coma allowing for us to interact with him even if he can't respond verbally. His sense of humor is returning and we are hopeful for a full recovery. Say hello to a man who desperately wants to be out of this medical bed and painting again!

So how can you help???
Honestly, I've never done anything like this before and fully expect for this to not provide much but that isn't a reason enough to not try. Terry and John have insurance but have racked up an outrageous hospital bill and as you can probably imagine, insurance is starting to be difficult. The amount I'm asking for isn't even close to paying off what they owe. I honestly just put up an arbitrary number to try and help Terry in any way.
Anything you can give, and I sincerly mean anything, would help them immensily. At this point, just paying for gas to go visit him in the hospital is tenuous at best.
I thank you so much for reading this. Getting eyes on this go fund me is more then I could have asked for and I appreciate everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and well wishes for my family.
Much love,
Cody Hawkins :)
