I set this up on behalf of Jennifer Hein-Inserra for many others outside of his immediate community to help. I worked with John for over 20 years starting at Covad all the way to GTT. John's 'work family' is far reaching and wanted to be sure everyone who wanted to 'do something' had an opportunity. All funds donated will go directly to Jennifer.
John Thomas Inserra passed away on the 6th of August. John was born in Englewood, New Jersey, and grew up in Moonachie before moving to Hillsdale with his loving wife Jennifer. He is predeceased by his father, John Inserra Sr. He is survived by his mother, RoseMarie Catania-Inserra, brother Christopher, wife Jennifer Inserra, sons Jordan and Jacob and daughter Jillian along with many more loving family members and close friends.
John was a devoted husband, father, friend, and member of the Hillsdale and Pascack Valley communities. John volunteered his time as a member of the Hillsdale Fire Department, as a coach and administrator of the Pascack Valley Junior Wrestling program and as an Assistant Coach with the Hillsdale Hawks Junior Football program. Helping young athletes succeed while coaching and developing his own children was John’s true passion. Wrestling in particular, was a big part of John’s involvement with his children, from their early years with the Pascack Valley junior program to most recently with Red Nose Wrestling.
John will be remembered for his stories, his sense of humor, his laugh, and his enthusiasm for life, but most of all for his commitment to his family and friends. Whether it was planning a wrestling tournament, coaching his kids, or just showing up for a Sunday morning softball game, John could always be counted on. We know that in every way, John is and will always be with us, as an inspiration to lead, give back to our communities, and be there for others when it matters most.
Services will be held at Becker Funeral Home in Westwood, New Jersey on Monday, August 10th from 4 pm – 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to help the Inserra family during the difficult days and months ahead.
