Hello. My name is Matthew McCullough and my co-worker/friend John Hoelzer was in a very bad car accident on Saturday, October 15th. He suffered a sudden seizure and crashed his car into the highway median. I'm not 100% sure of the extent of his injuries, but I do know he ended up with a broken vertebrae that has entered his spinal column. He is currently in ICU and will undergo extensive back surgery on Tuesday. He is looking at being out of work for 3-6 months at the least, having to replace his car, medical bills, rehab, and undergo the process of diagnosing why he had the seizure in the first place. This all while helping his wife support their two children which he constantly tells stories about at the field house.

I've worked with Coach Hoelzer for going on four years now at Red Oak ISD (a small suburb on I-35E about 15 mins south of downtown Dallas) where he is a teacher and football/track coach. I've witnessed him give countless hours to help make the students and athletes of ROMS and ROHS better all while making the commute from Keller, TX (an hour drive when there is no traffic... forget getting home if there is). He loves Red Oak ISD and his family. We should now show him that the Red Oak ISD family and his friends are there for him. I set the initial goal for $5000, but my hope is that we can raise enough so that they will not have to suffer any financial burden during this already difficult trial in their life.
