In Memory of John Hewitt Davis
Donation protected
On November 27, 2021, we discovered that our beloved brother, John Hewitt Davis , had transitioned peacefully while sitting in his home. He had his beloved trombone right next to him when he was found.
Everyone who knows John knows that he would show up at every family gathering, trombone in hand, to play a tribute song for whatever occasion. The other thing everyone knows about John is he had a huge heart, and was always there when needed. He never considered it robbery to construct something, paint something, repair something, or just help out in any way he could. He always had something good to say about everyone, he never gossiped or carried tales, but his sense of humor was enormous and infectious. He was a kind soul with a huge heart. He was "Uncle John", loved by everyone, and he always showed up, laden with gifts for all the kids at Christmas time.
John was installed as Grand Master of Bay Cities Masonic Lodge #337 in December, 2019, a position in which he served throughout 2020. The pictures here - of John with his brother, Louis, and eldest niece, Ruth, were taken after the installation ceremony. He was very proud of his lodge.
John's passing was very unexpected, and unfortunately, there are a number of unanticipated expenses to be dealt with in terms of his final arrangements and the disposition of his possessions. We are in the process of handling these tasks now, and are seeking support from everyone who cares to help out.
We are hoping to raise the majority of the funds we need by December 15, 2021. Thank you for your help!
