John's Reversal Surgery approval & Recovery

Donation protected
Hello, you may recognize me from my Gofund coming out of my initial colon surgery back in September 2022 (pictured above) I now finally have an opportunity to have my reversal surgery and have my colon put back together. Unfortunately, I am being displaced again and cannot have my surgery approved without a safe clean place to recover arranged and in place.

I have resisted asking for more money, as I would like to know that my relationships in the community don't always have to be transactional, but with few exceptions, it seems to be the only help I can get in time.

Shelters cannot accommodate my work materials and professional needs to do my remote work from recovery and my family will not help me. So, I am raising funds once again to pay for an Airbnb for my recovery and whatever liquid dietary needs I may have in recovery. Here is a recap of my situation:

• I am a native Novato resident and I lost my home during the pandemic when my county lifted the eviction ban before fulfilling it's rental assistance support.

• I continue to run my business from homelessness (housed or unhoused) at a reduced capacity. Due to the inconsistency of shelter, space, and time (too much of which is spent searching for places to stay) the momentum to secure a home again is repeatedly outrun by constant displacement. But I am a professional and disciplined working person. (feel free to ask for my resume or samples of the work I do from homelessness.

• I have a spotless record and plenty of character references.

• In addition to my intestine being exposed, I have severe osteo-arthritus. Not having a vehicle and carrying around all my work equipment takes a heavy toll on my body. I am living with a tremendous amount of discomfort and pain that I have to hide most the time so as not to lose work and lose anymore momentum.

• I am trying to find a place to recover to have my reversal surgery approved, so I can have my colon put back together. Living with a colostomy is one thing. Living homeless as a professional is one thing. Living homeless as a professional with a colostomy is an entirely different animal. It takes so much out of you and can only be kept up for so long.

• I have lost most of my current funds in my expensive search for a studio or shelter.

I need this reversal surgery to be whole enough again to be able to get myself out of homelessness. My life depends on it. I will not last the Summer in the combined hardship of homelessness, the colostomy, and demands of my work. Especially without substantial help.

All the money raised here will go to securing a safe clean place to recover from my surgery and any supplies for my recovery.

Please feel free to reach out for more info or with questions. I am very transparent about my situation. I'm just very tired and spread thin that I'm sure I am forgetting something. So, please feel free to ask questions.

Deeply grateful for any support.

Much love and thanks,
