Dear Family and Friends,
You may or may not know John and Christina Grabrick personally, but you certainly know someone who has been affected by COVID directly or indirectly.
It has been a very long road trying to recover from COVID-19 and there’s still a long road ahead, but I can tell you that John is FINALLY home from the hospital after THIRTY- THREE days!
On October 26, 2020, John’s fever was up to 105 degrees when Chris told him that she was driving him to the hospital or, she was calling an ambulance. They had been quarantining because someone who visited their bar and restaurant had tested positive, so they had to close down on October 18th until it was safe to reopen. That has not happened yet. They both tested positive for COVID and Pneumonia on October 20th.
Christina was able to go home with some meds, but John was admitted. He was later transferred to the MAYO Clinic, in Rochester and she was told that if she had not brought him in, he would not be here today.
John spent 3 weeks in the ICU as he struggled with breathing and getting his oxygen levels to regulate. He was finally released to go home on November 27th and has been set up with oxygen at home. At this point, it’s expected that he will need to remain on oxygen and receive 24-hour care for the next 30 to 60 days.
As you can imagine, this has been a huge stressor for Christina as she could not be with John all the while trying to recover on her own from COVID and pneumonia, anxiety mounting knowing John was struggling for his life AND dealing with a current diagnoses of Lyme Disease!
They have taken a huge financial hit as their bar, Big Dog Daddy’s Roadhouse, is still closed. They are humbly asking for any help anyone may be able to offer during this difficult time.
I know there are MANY people, me included, who can vouch for their generous hearts and the countless acts of kindness they have done for so many without asking for anything in return. It’s time for us to help in a time of need.
Thank you in advance for any financial assistance you can give them at this time.
