John Goulandris' Memorial Fund

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ashley, and I am fundraising for the Goulandris family. John is my father-in-law, and as many of you know, after a long battle with cancer, his journey is nearing the end. He slipped into a coma on Wednesday morning and is under the care of Hospice. He is comfortable at home, surrounded by his family.
In the ten years that I have been a part of the Goulandris family, John and Julie have shown me nothing but love, kindness, generosity, and compassion. I got to witness John as the kind of man who would absolutely do anything for his children and grandchildren. Most recently, I was fortunate enough to see him be an incredible Papou to our daughter, Norah. I have many memories of John, but my fondest will always be seeing him hold Norah for the first time, the day she was born.

If you're reading this, you probably know exactly what I am talking about. My memories are only of the recent years I've been lucky enough to call him Dad, but many of you have memories that go way back. Not only in these most recent days but over the years, I have heard endless stories from people about how John either helped them in some way, gave them their start because he believed in them, made them laugh so hard, or instilled some of his superior Greek knowledge on them. The general theme of all the stories I have heard of John is generosity. He would give the shirt off his back (when he had a shirt on) to anyone who needed it. There are three things about John that are undeniable...his love for his family, his love for the Lord, and his love for the Browns.
If you're reading this, you must also know that the love of John's life is Julie. So, I'm writing this on her behalf because I want her to have time to grieve her husband of 41 years and to be able to be with her children at this time. I've watched Julie care for John over these last years that we have lived down here in Florida, and one can only be so lucky to have the unconditional love that the two of them shared. The two of them have incredible strength and have endured so much together.
As the family begins to make arrangements for a memorial service, we ask for any help you may be able to offer. My prayer for the Goulandris family is that John has a peaceful transition, and his family finds peace and blessings during this incredibly difficult time.
Thank you.
