John Gilbert Memorial

Donation protected
We want to give John Gilbert the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes. I am currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of John's funeral. Any amount would be appreciated if you choose to do so, and there's absolutely no pressure.

John F. Gilbert Jr., age 38, returned to his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on May 25, 2023. He grew up in Hayward and Fremont California, adulting in the Bay Area, and lived his final days in Reno, Nevada.

He graduated from Washington High School Class of 03 , Lettered for Athletics.
John Jr., will be remembered for his beautiful smile that welcomed everyone into his warm and relaxed persona. A caring man, he possessed virtues of kindness, tact, confidence, and patience. He gave genuine interest to everyone in his presence. His heart always open and soft to his family and friends, making us all feel seen and loved.

A member of numerous sports teams in his youth, John Jr. valued good sportsmanship and was blessed with excellent athletic skills that were fun to watch on the field. He later earned his Electricians License and served well in the industry.

John Jr. enjoyed many pleasures in life: The taste of a well-prepared meal. The vibe of live music across many genres, especially local indie reggae. The fellowship of friends and family during a sports game. These sustained his joy.

In his recent adult life, John Jr. proclaimed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He passed along the words of Christ with courage and hope. He sincerely wanted everyone to feel His Presence and Love.

Waiting for him in the Heavenly Realms are J.C., Grandparents Betty Jane, Manuel, and Ruby. Family members Cocho, Monica and Angelina are also welcoming him home.. He is survived and tremendously bereaved by his parents John Gilbert Sr. and Step-Mother Yvette Gilbert, His mother Lisa Genrich and Step-Father David Genrich. Brother Bryan Gilbert and Krysta Cole, His Step-Brothers David and Darren Eastin, nephews Bryan Jr. and Jameson. Grieving are many Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews and Friends.

John Jr. would want us all to know:
"Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not let them be afraid (John 14:27)

A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor in Fremont, CA - date and location TBA.
