John Gibson’s Life Saving Heart Surgery

UPDATE: John finally has a surgery date! He and Lynne will travel to Toronto June 21st. Pre-op will happen June 22nd, and surgery June 23rd!

John will stay in hospital for a few days after surgery (the length of the stay will be dependent on how his surgery goes and how he does with his recovery), and then will need to stay in Toronto another 5 days after his release.

Hi, my name is Candi Wall, and I have a good friend who needs our help. John Gibson, aka Cowboy, is a longtime resident of the Eagle River/Vermilion Bay Area, and a pretty fantastic fishing guide on Eagle Lake and surrounding lakes.

John recently found out that he has a life threatening aneurysm on one of his heart valves, and has to travel to southern Ontario to have the surgery required to save his life. John’s wife, Lynne, will of course be accompanying him, but they are responsible for all travel and associated costs up front. That means two short notice airfares down to the surgery, two return airfares home, hotel costs, food, and any other costs associated with staying in a big city for an extended period. On top of that, there are loss of wages for at least that long, plus recovery time, medications required after release from hospital... and the list goes on. We would be so appreciative of any help coming their way, and thank you from the very bottom of our hearts.
