35 years ago our brother John passed away in an automobile accident.

Jim and I want to honor John’s memory, pay tribute to the man and brother he was. So here’s what we came up with.

I would like to Officially announce we have created the John E. Ricketts Memorial Girls Mile Challenge.

I have held the record for the mile run at Forest Area for over 37 years. We are challenging any girl who ran track for F.A. last year to come in and beat my time.

Jim and I are matching each other at $1,000 apiece and have already had other donations from friends who knew about it.

There’s been a lot of inspiration from a lot of different directions concerning this project, and again, I will post a video with all the information.

Please join Jim and I in honoring our brothers memory and try to inspire a young lady to cross the finish line in less than 5 minutes 58 seconds.

Funds will go towards furthering education after graduation.
