John has been a great friend to a lots of people. He has been a helping hand in the community his whole life. John has been a very caring and giving person. John has been a member of Emergency Response Team for the past 20 years, helping anybody he could. The last few year have been rough for many people but especially for John and now he needs our help.
John and his wife April were living in a nice house and life was good. In September of 2017, Hurricane Harvey came to Southeast Texas and caused all sorts of destruction and misery for thousands of people. John and April were not spared of the misery. Their house was flooded in the storm and they lost everything. The house was almost a total loss. They were able to save the structure but the inside of the house and all of their belongings were destroyed. They barely had clothes to wear. Unfortunately they did not have flood insurance and they were not able to rebuild right away. As the year progressed, they were able to start the rebuilding process. Little by little they started piecing the house back together and were able to move back in with only bare necessities.
John and April were on their way to getting the house back to the way it was until September of 2019 when Tropical Storm Imelda came to town. The house was then flooded again. They have lost everything once again. They were devastated. The house was a total loss this time and they still have not been able to rebuild. The house is just a shell and totally uninhabitable.
It wasn't the end of problems for John and April. John received the worst news a person can get. John was diagnosed with Stage 4 Prostate Cancer just one month after losing everything for the second time. John, April, his family and friends have been shocked by this news. John underwent radiation and chemo treatment that totally drained him physically as well as mentally. April became his full time caretaker. He continued to work as a key member for Emergency Response for Goodyear despite declining health. He was given a prognosis that was less than optimistic and there really isn't much the doctors can do at this point.
John needs our help. He needs help with the medical bills that are pilling up every day. During his treatment he has been off work which resulted in living expanses left unpaid. April takes care of John every day and night. This page has been set up to help John and April with these expenses. A benefit is being set up in February to help raise money for them as well.
