Retired concert violinist John Doig isn’t letting Parkinson’s disease slow him down. He is trading his violin and bow for walking shoes and a wheeled walker to tackle the Kelvingrove Park 5k on Sunday 13th September 2026. To add a bit of sparkle to the campaign, he has called it John’s Meow-zart March! (He admits that in reality, on the day, it will be at a more adagio pace!) Every single step John takes will help Cat Action Trust 1977 Ayrshire Branch provide shelter, medical care, and loving homes for cats and kittens. (John adopted his beautiful cat Ruah from them four years ago).

Every penny raised will go directly to helping stray and abandoned cats - thank-you in advance for your contribution to this cause.

Cat Action Trust 1977 Ayrshire Branch (www.cat77.org.uk) is a national charity that specialises in feral cats and kittens. They rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome feral and stray cats and kittens. With a no-kill policy, animals that are rescued are cared for by foster families until a suitable home can be found.

They are entirely run on donations, and all helpers are volunteers.
