~Message from Alice: You all have helped us so much. I never dreamed so many people from town, family, and friends, would be able to give us so much as a collection but more as an opportunity and chance to grow past this loss. We have so much healing to do. For the last 20 years John has been sick. Our lives were happy because we had him in it, even with all the ups and downs, but we lived a scared life as long term sickness has a way of overshadowing and filling each day to day with worry amidst everything else. Every joy was shadowed by his sadness to not be able to participate and then later attend especially in the last two years. We always did what we could to sustain him in our lives, even when we were out and about, and we will continue to do so. He isn’t forgotten, rather deeply and sincerely missed. The joy of knowing he isn’t in pain, that he isn’t sad anymore, is tempered by our huge loss. Our hearts don’t beat the same anymore. We will grow and we will heal. We will take him in our hearts everywhere we go and in everything we do. We will remember him and all his smiles when he was healthy, when he was happy, when he was a positive strength for doing so much good. I thank you all for the help in giving us some stability through all this loss and change. The money will help pay the mortgage for some months, will help repair or replace my 24 year old car and his 21 year old car, will help in badly needed house repairs put off for many years, and it will help us breathe again. Thank you. ~
